The UNSW/ES Bulldogs is delighted to announce they will field two teams in the Under 19s Sydney AFL competition in 2018 in a bid to nurture developing players and strengthen talent pathways.
The aspirational program will be overseen by 100+ AFL Melbourne Demons and Sydney Swans Player Kevin Dyson, working closely with former club champion player, life member and Sydney Swans Academy Coach Steve Chichester.
The development comes about after the under 19 playing group voted unanimously for the formation of a second team, showing commitment to the club and respect as a playing group.
“It was a great show of spirit and leadership from these young men, and an initiative that will continue to support the sustainability and future of our club and Sydney AFL for many years to come”, said Dyson.
UNSW-ES President Stephen Dunkley is excited about the opportunities that will arise following the formation of the program, saying this enterprise is a perfect representation of the club’s vision.
“We want to be respected as a pathway club as well as high performance gateway club at the Bulldogs”, said Dunkley.
“We work incredibly hard to support talent development through strong links with the East Sydney Bulldogs and Maroubra Saints Junior clubs whilst creating programs and platforms to provide our elite players the opportunity to be drafted.”
“Our success continues to be built on the back of an outstanding and committed group of club officials, coaches and our support group of parents and volunteers who embrace a culture of respect and back our direction to be the club of choice in Sydney football”.
Any aspiring 19s eligible AFL players interested to develop through our 19s program are invited to contact Kevin Dyson at email@example.com or call on 0417 708 429.
