Under 19s (M)
The UNSW/ES Bulldogs will field two teams in the Under 19s Sydney AFL competition in 2018 in a bid to nurture developing players and strengthen talent pathways.
The aspirational program will be overseen by 100+ AFL Melbourne Demons and Sydney Swans Player Kevin Dyson, working closely with former club champion player, life member and Sydney Swans Academy Coach Steve Chichester.
In 2017, our Under 19s team finished in third place after the end of the regular season, before being knocked out by eventual Premiers St George in the Preliminary final.
UNDER 19s COACH – KEVIN DYSON
The club is delighted to have Kevin ‘Kevy’ Dyson back in 2018 to coach the Under 19s. A former Sydney Swans and Melbourne Demons player, Dyson has coached junior AFL in Sydney since 2005 before coming on board at the Bulldogs in 2017.
A Richmond Tigers supporter with a sweet spot for his former clubs, Dyson says his favourite thing about coaching is learning from the players and seeing their development through effort whilst building a team and culture that is respected.
Describing his coaching style as caring, competitive and invested, he’s excited about building on the foundations set in 2017 to build a competitive and respected team in the Sydney AFL competition and a squad that plays footy for each other.
