If you’re a new student at UNSW and want to know more about the university’s AFL club, come and say hi to us during O-Week.
We’ll have a stall on campus as a part of the festivities and you’ll have the chance to talk to current players and some of our volunteers who keep the club running.
Here’s some of the basic information to get you started:
- We’ve got three men’s teams who all train on Mondays and Wednesdays at Dave Phillips (the uni sport complex just down the road from main campus)
- If you’re still under 19, we’ve got two teams and a head coach who played 100+ games in the AFL who also train on Mondays and Wednesdays down at DP
- We’ve got two women’s teams who train on the Village Green on main campus (the oval with the white picket fence just off Barker St) on Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Rego for uni students is $350 but that includes everything you’ll need – training singlet, club polo and playing shorts and socks
We’ll be manning our stall from Monday 19 – Wednesday 21 February and don’t want to get bored and lonely with only a clipboard for a friend – so make sure you come by so we can a) tell you how great the Bulldogs are and b) get you on down to a training sesh soon.
Oh, and a shout to ARC whilst we’re here – their ongoing support to the club helps us massively to get the teams on the field each week and their contribution to making student life is fun and balanced is what university study is about.
